Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how rat removal works and what to expect.

I believe I have a rat issue — how can Sarasota Rat Removal help?

We’ll schedule an inspection to come out and determine your rodent issue. We identify the problem, explain our action plan, and provide an estimate. Once you approve, our technicians perform the exclusion work, set traps for any remaining rodents, and inspect the traps every couple of days. We also offer decontamination services and guarantee the work is rodent-proof.

What is an Exclusion?

A proper exclusion seals up all potential entry points with quality building materials to prevent further rodent infestation.

Didn’t the home builder or roofer already seal up any openings?

The building code in the United States does not require builders or roofers to address rodent issues during construction, so most homes are not sealed against rodent infestation.

Why are there openings in the first place?

Homes are built with gaps for ventilation, plumbing, wiring, and expansion — and construction tolerances leave small openings at the roofline, soffits, and utility penetrations. Rodents only need a gap the size of a quarter to get in. We find and seal them.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Manatee, Sarasota, and Pinellas counties — including Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Palmetto, Sarasota, Siesta Key, Venice, Nokomis, St. Petersburg, and the surrounding communities.
